4 Days / 3 nights

Age 12+
March to December

This route is for those who love a good rush of adrenaline and variety of activities along the way to Machu Picchu. Activities such as biking, rafting, trekking, visiting local communities and plantations of coca, fruit, and coffee, zipline and of course visiting Machu Picchu itself.

Day 1

At an agreed upon time we will leave by car very early in the morning from the City of Cusco to the Sacred Valley. Near the town of Ollantaytambo we will stop to eat breakfast for the day. From there we will continue to the Abra Malaga (4250 meters above sea level). Around this point we will start our first activity of the day which is a bike trail of 50 kilometers. This trail will take us through different ecosystems within Andean Mountains, with each kilometer leading us deeper into the valley where you can find some of the best producers of coffee.

In the afternoon, once finished with our biking excursion, we will return to the car and travel to the town of Santa Maria where we will again see the Urubamba River. At this point you will have the opportunity to go rafting along the river with experts in this activity.

Day 2

This day we will be taking a long hike into the cultivated tropical countryside of the Andean Valley. After breakfast in Santa Maria we will be led by a local through the diverse farms where some of the best coffee, cacao, coca and fruit is produced. This hike will also take us up a steep path used by the Incans and is one of the prime cultural attractions along the route. It will take us to an amazing view of the Urubamba Valley as we follow the river below and descend to the hot springs of Cocalmayo. We finish the hike and the day in Santa Teresa where we will spend the night.

Day 3

At an agreed upon time we will head out to zipline. This adrenaline packed activity will take place in the morning after breakfast. Afterwards we will travel by car to Hidroelectrica where the national park of Machu Picchu begins. From here we will trek to the town of Aguas Calientes (approximately 10 km) along the train tracks that lead alongside the Urubamba River.

Day 4

This day we will enter and visit the ruins of Machu Picchu. The entrance is at the top of some mountains and there are two ways you can choose from to arrive – you can board a bus that takes you to the entrance or you can hike. After visiting this incredible site of cultural and historical value we will return to Aguas Calientes. From there we will board a train to return to the Sacred Valley and then from there a tour bus will take us back to the city of Cusco.
