The Humantay Lake is the most visited among the various Andean lagoons because the scenic landscape that forms around the lagoon and its turquoise waters. This scenic effect is occurred due to various geological, climatological and microbiological factors.

Very early in the morning we will depart from the city of Cusco to head north. Along this route there were many Inca roads and various archaeological sites. We will follow the path that will take us to the town of Mollepata, where we will have breakfast in one of the local restaurants of this Andean village.

The trip will be by car until reaching a local route called Soraypampa. From here you can see the most important snow-capped mountains; he Salkantay and the Humantay. They are named after Andean deities of great spirituality. After walking through a flat area, we will arrive at the stables, where you can ride a horse or continue walking uphill until you reach the turquoise lagoon of Humantay, located 4200 meters above sea level. It takes the name due to the snowy mountain that is located on this lagoon. This Andean lagoon has been formed with a peculiar color because of the melting snow.

After this scenic visit, we will return by the same route until we reach our transit in the Soraypampa plain. We will then return to the city of Cusco along the same route that we took to reach the Peruvian Andes.
